Time to play "name the (presumably Asian) vegetable".

Any idea what's in this picture?


Jeannot gets free food from his Asian coworkers, and (being all man) he doesn't bother asking the name of the vegetables he's given, or how to prepare them.

I guess he expects me (being all woman) to instinctively know how to cook anything.

Ughhh....

All I got out of him was that someone might had mentioned you peel it and then eat it.

So we did.

    One stalk was delicious, the other was a bit ...tangy, almost bitter. I guess it wasn't ripe enough.

    I figured as much. I tried to work my internet researching magic... but it must be broken right now. After looking through tons of photos of Asian vegetables I still have no idea what they are (were?).
